Morgantina, hellenistic silver treasure back in Sicily from Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York

Before the return of the beautiful "Venere di Morgantina", the greek statue 2,20 mt tall which Getty Museum of Los Angeles will bring back to Sicily in January 2011, the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York returned to Italy a treasure of 16 hellenistic silver items dating back to third century bC, considered among the most refined hellenistic silver from Magna Grecia. From June they will be exposed in the new archaeological museum of Aidone, in the nearby of Piazza Armerina. Beside the silver items the exceptional golden "Phiale" from Caltavuturo.
